Acacia gum is the hardened sap of the Acacia seyal tree, a thorny tree native to Africa. These hardened golden “tears” were once collected during times of drought, when the bark of the tree would split, slowly spilling out the sap which would then harden upon drying. Nowadays, this sap is often extracted manually by tapping the tree.
Used since the time of the Ancient Egyptians, acacia gum contains beneficial glyconutrients and polysaccharides, among other nutrients. It is traditionally used to support healthy digestion and regularity, and works to help nourish beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract by acting as a prebiotic.**
For adults, mix one (1) scoop (6.5 g) acacia fibre powder with water or juice per day. This product should be taken with at least 8 to 12 ounces of water or other fluids.
