History of Elemi
Sharing some of the same resinous qualities as frankincense and myrrh, elemi has long been revered in the Middle East and was particularly valued in ancient Egypt. The name elemi alludes to the Arabic phrase for "as above, so below," pointing to the towering plant's spiritual associations. Bearing subtle coniferous and balsamic notes, the aroma of elemi is clean and fruity, making for a remarkably enticing fragrance.
